Made by a Physics Teacher.

For Physics Teachers & Students Everywhere.

SimPHY is an interactive STEM learning platform built to make science and mathematics easier to see, understand, and explore.

What started with a teacher trying to make his classroom more engaging has grown into a platform used by educators and students around the world.

Where It All Began

It started with a teacher who wanted his students to see physics differently.

SimPHY is the brainchild of Mr. Mahesh Kurmi, a Mathematics and Physics professor and an enthusiastic developer.

During his early years of teaching, Mahesh often looked for ways to make his lectures more engaging. He would perform experiments and use animations available on the internet to help students visualize concepts that were difficult to explain with a textbook or a blackboard alone.

But there was a problem.
  • The animations were limited.
  • The experiments couldn't demonstrate everything.
  • And the internet didn't always have the simulation he needed.

So he decided to build one himself.

Built by Teachers, for Teachers

We understand the classroom because that's where SimPHY began.

SimPHY was not created simply as a piece of software. It was created from a teacher's experience of trying to make students curious.

That philosophy continues to shape everything we build. We want to give teachers better tools to explain difficult concepts and give students the freedom to explore those concepts themselves.

More Than a Product

We believe technology should give back.

Our vision for SimPHY goes beyond building great simulation software. We believe that quality STEM education should be accessible to every student, regardless of where they live or what resources their school has.

That is why SimPHY.org is dedicated to providing free STEM education to students across the globe.

Through simulations, interactive learning experiences, educational resources, and an open community of educators and learners, we want to use technology to help make STEM education more accessible.

We build SimPHY because we believe knowledge should travel further than a classroom.
