Drag the chord endpoints to see how the perpendicular bisectors intersect at the circle’s true center.
The construction demonstrates the classic geometric fact that the perpendicular bisector of any chord of a circle passes through the circle’s centre. By drawing two chords, their bisectors meet at a single point, which is the exact centre O of the circle.
Students can drag the endpoints of chords AB and CD at any time. The simulation automatically draws the perpendicular bisectors and shows their intersection, allowing learners to observe how the centre is located regardless of chord placement.
Through this activity, learners reinforce concepts of chords, bisectors, and circle geometry, developing spatial reasoning and understanding of Euclidean constructions used in many geometry curricula.
